In a make-up game played in Bar Harbor Wednesday, the Wildcats were tied with the Trojans at halftime, but dominated play in the second half to pull off their fourth consecutive win by a score of 58-44 and move to 8-3 on the season.
Emily Wheaton and Emily Lagerstrom each made three 3-point field goals and led PI’s offense with 23 and 14 points, respectively. Skylar Vogel added nine.
It’s a quiet night on the high school hoop scene tonight as Central Aroostook hosts the undefeated Southern Aroostook Warriors in a boys’ matchup in Mars Hill beginning at 7 p.m.

MDI boys 90, Presque Isle 67

The Wildcats were unable to hand MDI its first loss as the Trojans’ offense was too much in the Class B clash in Bar Harbor.
“They keep coming at you with full-court defense and wear you down,” said Wildcat coach Terry Cummings, whose team lost its third straight game. “They are very physical and very unselfish and we just couldn’t stop them defensively.”
PI’s 67 points were the most given up by the first-place Trojans this season. The Wildcats’ guard combination of Griffin Guerrette and Jonah Hudson had great outings. Guerrette had 22 points, six rebounds and six assists and Hudson 17 points, four assists and three steals. PI (6-5) connected on eight of its 17 attempts from beyond the 3-point arc.
Washburn girls 42, Wisdom 15
Kassie Farley scored 12 points and Alexis Carney eight as the visiting Beavers seized control early with an 18-2 lead. Beaver coach Tyler Putnam said his team’s full-court pressure forced numerous turnovers in building the big lead.
It was Washburn’s seventh win of the season against four losses. Wisdom remains winless at 0-9.
Wisdom boys 50, Washburn 39
The Pioneers (7-3) avenged a loss in Washburn on Dec. 16 as they outscored the Beavers 16-2 in the second quarter to battle back from an early deficit in the home game. Kodey Cyr scored 24 in the victory, while McCall Turner scored 21 and Quintin Thompson 16 for the 4-7 Beavers.
CAHS girls 56, Fort Fairfield 41
The Panthers (9-2) used 19 points from Ashlee Harris and 13 from Kassie Levesque in a convincing win at Fort Fairfield. Freshman Cammi King-DeMerchant fired in a season-high 24 for the 5-8 Tigers.
Ashland girls 48, LCS/MSSM 15
The Hornets’ record evened at 6-6 with a strong defensive effort at home against the Eagles.
Senior Hannah Stratton netted a career-high 16 points to lead the Ashland offense, while Olivia Tardie added nine. Taylor Labreck, a freshman, scored nine of her team’s 15 points as LCS/MSSM fell to 2-8.
LCS/MSSM boys 40, Ashland 28
The Eagles made it two straight wins, both on the road, behind Mason Patten’s 15 points in Ashland. LCS/MSSM is now 4-6 under rookie head coach Ben Arsenault.
Baily Clark and Kyle Beaulier tossed in eight points each for the 4-8 Hornets.
