HOULTON — Saturday’s brisk weather didn’t seem to bother Greater Houlton Christian Academy’s annual harvest festival and auction.
The day’s event raised $14,400 for the school’s annual fund.
The harvest festival auction included items like the a weekend get-away, a handmade quilt, pellet stove and more. Set up outside the school, high school students were responsible for organizing game booths for the younger crowd.
“I think the older kids had just as much fun as the younger ones,” said Kelly Little, one of those who helped with the festival.
Attendance for the day was strong, and Headmaster Mark Jago said he was encouraged by all those who took part.
“It was great to see the level of participation from our school family, community members and area churches,” he said. “It was a reminder to me just how much community appreciation and support there is for the mission of GHCA.”
