CRYSTAL — A 57-year-old Patten man died last week after a motorcycle accident on Route 159 in Crystal.
According to Deputy Mike Montpetit of the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Department, the accident happened just after 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 18; he said the deceased, Carroll Miller, was operating a 1996 Harley-Davidson when he failed to negotiate a turn.
“The bike rolled at least two times, based on the marks we found,” added Montpetit.
Emergency responders from Patten Ambulance transported Miller to Houlton Regional Hospital where he was declared dead.
Further details of the accident are still under investigation. Miller was wearing a helmet at the time; Montpetit said investigators aren’t sure if speed was a factor.
