HOULTON — The last chance to question your candidates is less than a week away and the Greater Houlton Chamber of Commerce is urging residents to get their candidate’s questions in as soon as possible.
“We’ve had little response in regard to the candidate questions,” explained Chamber Executive Director Lori Weston. “We need to get more feedback from the community.”
The candidate’s forum is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 29 at 6:30 p.m. in the council chambers. Questions can either be mailed in to the chamber at 109 Main Street, Houlton, ME., 04730, via e-mail to www.chamber@greaterhoulton.com, or call 532-7111 throughout the evening. The forum is used as an opportunity for candidates to answer the people’s questions and explain why they would be the best candidate for the position.
This year’s moderator will be Galen Wilde. Timekeepers will be Carol Thurston and Karen Fitzpatrick. Chamber board members will be answering incoming calls at the town office on the evening of the forum as well.
Those in the running for the three-year terms are: Philip Bernaiche, John Fitzpatrick, Stan Ginish and Paul Romanelli. Running for the one-year term are: Carl Lord and Sue Tortello.
The candidate’s forum gives voters one last chance to question those running for public office prior to the Nov. 6 election.
