McKissick, Clayton R., Sr., 64, April 4, 2008.  Arrangements by Dunn Funeral Home, Houlton.  Interment to be held in the spring in the Orient Cemetery.
ImageImageOrient and Hodgdon – Clayton Roy McKissick, Sr., 64, died April 4, after a courageous battle with lung cancer surrounded by his family at his home. He was born January 31, 1944 at Houlton.
    Clayton served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict and was a member of the American Legion. He loved to hunt and fish day or night his greatest joy was spending time with all his grandchildren and his children.
    Clayton is survived by his mother, Katherine McKissick of Charlton City, MA; three sons, Clayton McKissick, Jr. and his wife Kate, Brian McKissick, and Scott McKissick all of Orient; two daughters, Laurie Hovey and her husband Billy of Hodgdon, Tammy Acott and her husband Ricky of Houlton; eleven grandchildren, Steven and Kari Hovey, Matt Hovey, Zach Cronkhite, Taylor Hovey, Kassidy McKissick, Nic Parker, Jordyn McKissick, Emily McKissick, Leah and Hannah McKissick; three brothers, Larry McKissick and his wife Linda of Charlton, MA, Arvin McKissick and his wife Rachel of Houlton, Bruce McKissick and his wife Cheryl of Charlton, MA; two sisters, Sylvia Prunier and her husband Ed of NM, Cindy Ide of Charlton, MA; his little buddy who was always by his side, "Rocky"; three very dear life long friends, Mike Dunham, Danny Williams and Mike Cavnaugh; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Clayton P. McKissick and the love of his life his wife Gloria V. McKissick.
    At Clayton’s request, there will be no services at this time. A graveside service will be held May 24, 2008 at the Orient Cemetery with a gathering to follow at Uncle Larry’s Place.
