The Houlton Softball Association is looking for teams for its summer softball season, starting on June 2. Organizers have scheduled a second and final captains meeting at 6 p.m. on May at the Houlton Recreation Department.
The $400 entrance fee is due at this time. Anyone who is planning on getting a team formed should be at this informational meeting.

Annual tourney slated
The fourth annual “Beat the Heat” softball tournament will be held in Houlton the weekend of May 31. It’s a double elimination tournament with T-shirts for the winners. There will be concessions available, as well as a homerun contest mid-afternoon on Saturday. Proceeds to benefit the Houlton Softball Association to help maintain the field.
