HOULTON, Maine – The Board of Directors of Ricker College held its annual spring meeting on May 16, at the Courtyard Café. Members present were: Gary Bossie, Executive Director; Dana Wright, Chairman; Gary Stairs, Vice-Chairman; Woodrow Dunphy, Treasurer; Elizabeth Stone, Secretary; David Berry; Gerald Riley; Otis Smith; Murray Putnam; John Clack; Budson Anderson; Susan Nason; Lanny Putnam; Jay Clark; Gregory Douglas, Emeritus.
Thomas Pierce of H.M. Payson & Co. presented his recommendations for the 2008-09 scholarships. As a result of his report, the Board is pleased to announce that 29 area students will receive scholarships of $1,500 each year for their 4-year university programs.
Since 1985, students have received approximately $3.5 million in scholarships from the Ricker Endowment.
