A notice to Easton Senior Citizens: Tom Closson wants to inform Easton senior citizens that he will not be handling the Farm Shares program this summer and is not certain who will be doing it. We will miss our trips to his farm and the friendly banter with Tom; he is to be thanked for his helpfulness.

The Easton United Methodist Women met at the home of Treasurer Marie Hewitt last Thursday with six in attendance. President Eldora Carter did devotions in the absence of Avis Hume. The word for the month was ‘blessing.’ A list was made of people whom the group was concerned about and they were prayed for, with “The Lord’s Prayer” being recited. The U.M.W. Purpose was read, followed by the reading of the last minutes and the treasurer’s report. Freda Dionne reported that she had three large quilts and 10 baby quilts at her home for sale. She also reported selling one baby quilt since last meeting. A sympathy card was sent and 13 visitations were made by the group for the month. The president reported that 16 cookie trays had been delivered by the group for Christmas and one gift certificate for a Christmas basket as well as a fruit basket. Thank-you cards were read from member Lillian Flewelling and Mark Beaton, as well as the newsletter from the Pregnancy Care Center, and a map was looked at by the group that displayed where Church World Service had helped the people of the world who were in need. The group voted to make a donation to Project Graduation and to the Ronald McDonald House in Bangor. Refreshments were served by the hostess and a time of fellowship followed. Those present were: Eldora Carter, Freda Dionne, Glenice Craig, Marjorie Corey, Carol Higley and hostess Marie Hewitt. The next meeting will be held on Feb. 20, at the home of Freda Dionne on Station Road. Glenice Craig will be on Devotions and the word for the month will be ‘prayer.’
On Feb. 3, the Music Ministry Team, TESTIFY, from Bethany Bible College will be in concert at the Easton Wesleyan Church beginning at 10:45 a.m. On Feb. 9, there will be an Adult Valentine Party beginning at 6 p.m.
Home
Alberta Flannigan has returned to her home on the Station Road after spending several weeks in the hospital and convalescent unit at the Presque Isle health care facility.
Joanne Johnson has also returned to her apartment at West Ridge Manor after spending several days at The Aroostook Medical Center and the convalescent unit at the Mars Hill health care facility. We wish them both continued progress.
Congratulations
We want to congratulate Zackery Dusza of the Easton Elementary School’s 6th grade for his first-place win in the annual Geography Contest held at the Easton Jr./Sr. High School last week. Right behind him was Jonah Bacon from the 8th grade who placed second. Zackery will have to take a test and if he does alright in that, he will compete in the state competition. Those competing, besides Zackery and Jonah, were: Zakery Cilley, Ian Sotomayor, Jared Hafford, Whitney Smith, Abagale Stewart, Amanda Dayringer and Abigail Poole.
Mice identified
In the picture last week of Tammey White and the little ones depicting the mice who were not stirring in “The Night Before Christmas” play put on by the Easton Elementary School ECP class, the mice were not named. They were: Sierra Lawrence and Quin Gillespie. Sorry!

COREY WHITE is proud of his Shaving Horse that he constructed for his part in the American History class this year at Easton Junior/Senior High School. This is a tool that was used many years ago to help build furniture and such.

LISA DAYRINGER stands in front of the beautiful log cabin-style quilt that she made for her American History class this year. The quilt is a twin size and something she will have to remember Paul Dudley’s class and Easton Junior/Senior High School for years to come.

LUKE BUDREAU stands beside the rugged ladder he built to show what was used in pioneer days to get to the low roofs of their houses and barns. Building items for Paul Dudley’s American History class has been an annual tradition for quite a few years now and the students have all done a great job.
