Senior ladies open season with tourney in Canada

    The Upper St. John Senior Ladies held their first tournament of the season at Covered Bridge Golf and Country Club in Hartland, New Brunswick.  
    Gross winners in the first flight were Betty Deveau from Caribou, Fern LaFoge from Grand Falls, N.B. and Alexis Madore from Presque Isle.  The net winners in this flight were Luanna Culberson of Covered Bridge, Nancy Carvell of Mars Hill and Jessie Thompson of Aroostook Valley Country Club of Fort Fairfield.   
    In the second division Laurette McLaughlin of Grand Falls, Bev Osborn of VaJoWa in Island Falls and Carol Ann Russell of Aroostook Valley were the gross winners, with Flo Siruno of Caribou, Betty Smallwood of VaJoWa and Jan Beaulieu of Presque Isle being the net winners.
    Judy Duprey of Caribou, Odette LaPointe of Grand Falls and Gale Hoffses of Presque Isle won the gross prizes in the third flight. The net winners of this flight were Marie Riley of Covered Bridge, Jeanette Harvey of VaJoWa and Diane Cormier of Grand Falls.   
    In the fourth flight gross winners were Carmen Reller of Aroostook Valley, Dottie Fitzgerald of Caribou and Norma Manter of Aroostook Valley, and the net winners were Theresa Wood of Houlton, Bernadette Ouellette of Caribou and Carol McElwee of Aroostook Valley.
       The next tournament will be held at Houlton Country Club on July 9.  The remaining three tournaments will be held on July 30 at Grand Falls Golf Course in Grand Falls, N.B.; August 20 at Fort Kent Golf course and September 3 at Presque Isle Country Club.
