Music star picks Katahdin Cedar

    Katahdin Cedar Log Homes of Oakfield has been chosen to provide the custom log package for Eddie Montgomery’s Steakhouse. Based in Oakfield, Maine, Katahdin is a national leader for “green” built homes, setting high standards for their company and products to be energy efficient, manage forests responsibly, and recycle waste material.
    “We couldn’t be more thrilled,” said Eddie Montgomery, singer for country duo Montgomery Gentry. “We wanted a company with great products and that is conscious about the environment – Katahdin is a champion for both.”
    The 20,000-square foot restaurant will serve as the centerpiece to Skylar’s Landing, a new development Montgomery and business partner Tommy Mitchell are building in Harrodsburg.
    “I worked with Katahdin on ABC’s television show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition“, said Mitchell, owner of Rocky Top Log Furniture & Railing in Brantsville. “They built the show’s first log home in 4 1/2 days and it was incredible! After witnessing their quality and work ethic first-hand, I knew this was the company for us.”
