HOULTON — What do Smokey Bear and Maine Fire Prevention Services have in common? One thing really and that’s fire prevention and protection.
FIRST LINE OF DEFENSE – Maine Fire Prevention Services of Houlton can be a homeowners first line of defense. Working to promote fire safety are, from left, Dave and Debbie Henderson, Russell Stewart and Andrew Joslyn. Absent from the photo are Matt London and Daniel McGillicuddy.
Maine Fire Prevention has been working toward providing residents with everything they need to be prepared in the event of a fire for the past nine years. Owned and operated by David and Debbie Henderson, Maine Fire Prevention, located at 244 Bangor Road, works 24/7 to make sure that should the time come, their staff is there to answer your call.
“We pride ourselves in meeting customer’s needs as they contact us,” said Debbie. “By having an office/ business in Houlton, we are centralized to most of our coverage area. We also travel to all businesses to conduct inspections, and we have a monthly listing by date of what is due so you can ‘leave the worrying to us.’”
Besides providing on call services, Maine Fire Prevention also sells and services extinguishers, commercials hoods, suppression systems and is available for restaurant hood cleaning and maintenance.
With fuel prices rising, more consumers are looking at installing alternative energy sources such as wood stoves, pellet stoves and other heating items, fire dangers may increase, said Debbie, so think safety and have fire extinguishers nearby.
Two years ago, Maine Fire Prevention Services was hired to pressure wash the windmills on Mars Hill Mountain, and they were hired again for the same type of job on Stetson Mountain.
But besides having all of the latest styles in fire prevention tools, David shifts his focus to maintaining a strong customer service relationship. They have a full-time office manager, along with two full-time and two part-time employees, who are available during their regular business hours that can address your needs and concerns.
Regular business hours are Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and are available on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
