“We want to thank everyone who came out to run and those who just helped out with the fundraiser,” she said. “Everyone seemed to have a great time, so plans are underway for next year’s event.”
The team is now able to purchase sweatshirts and sweatpants.
Spectators at the event witnessed exciting finishes, with the closest being with GHCA runner Whitney Cote and GHCA Principal Tom Zimmerman. It was right down to a photo finish, almost. The youngest runner was 11-year-old Tanner Edgecomb of Caribou, coach Ewings nephew. He finished the 5K run in a time of 25:20, giving GHCA junior Jaron Gray a run for his money. Lee-Rae Oliver and Brent Bailey kept the crowd cheering with their race to the finish line, while GHCA senior Chris Morin supported his dad, Mark, to the finish by running in with him.
