Local students named to Dean’s List

     University of New England
    Laurel Ranck, daughter of Julie and Kevin DeMaere of Houlton has been named to the dean’s list for the 2008 fall semester at the University of New England. Dean’s list students have attained a grade point average of 3.30 or better out of a possible 4.0 at the end of the semester.
    A 2008 graduate of Houlton High School, Ranck is a major in occupational therapy. She is also actively involved at the University in various clubs and leadership.
Florida Institute
    Dawn McDonald, a resident of Oakfield was among the students from Florida Institute of Technology who were named to the Dean’s List for the fall semester, which ended in December. McDonald is a General Biology major.
    To be included on the Dean’s List, a student must complete 12 or more graded credits in a semester with a semester grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.4.
Thomas College
    Ashlee McClure of Houlton, Tim Hartin of Island Falls and Paul Lovett, Jr. of Stacyville were among the Thomas College students named to the Dean’s List in the Day division for the fall 2008 semester.
