Adult education registrations up
The Adult Education Center at the Houlton Higher Education Center reports that winter/spring registrations in some classes are up dramatically over last fall. Much of this increase is due to changes in the economy. Registrations in the C.N.A. and R.N. pre-requisite classes are nearly double from last fall due to job openings in the healthcare field.
Registration in the College Transitions/CAP program, for people preparing for college, has been boosted by unemployment in some fields.
Interest in GED courses has increased with the need for people to have more options in their career choices.
