Little League opening ceremonies Saturday

On Saturday May 2, the Houlton area Little League will be holding its opening day ceremonies at the Porter Field beginning at 9:30 a.m.  All Little League baseball and softball teams will be introduced as well as players who will be participating in the Houlton Recreation Department T-ball and First Pitch programs.
Tim Humphrey will be providing music and entertainment, and concessions will be sold at the event. If someone is unable to make the opening day ceremony, still feel free to come after and catch the Little League action, as four games are scheduled for after the ceremony.
At 11 a.m., Barry Lorom Trucking squares off against Wal-Mart in a Minors Division game, while at 1 p.m., Aroostook Auto Glass will oppose F.A Peabody in a Little League softball matchup. At 3 p.m., another Little League Minors game is scheduled with Mooers Realty playing the Rotary team, and closing out the action at 5 p.m., the Little League Majors play with Savings Bank of Maine squaring off against Houlton Farms Dairy.
As an added bonus, there will be a raffle on three tickets to a Boston Red Sox game on July 7 against the Oakland A’s. The raffle will benefit the Field of Dreams project. Let’s play ball.
