Glenna W. Crouse

Crouse, Glenna W., 93, June 12, 2009.  Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls.  Interment was held in the Patten Cemetery.
    PATTEN – Glenna W. Crouse, 93, passed away Friday, June 12, 2009, in Patten. She was born Aug. 24, 1915, in Mapleton, to Everett and Susie McDonough Condon.
    Upon completion of high school, she attended Aroostook State Teachers College. After college, Glenna, taught in numerous one-room schoolhouses in Northern Maine until her career as farm housewife began. Glenna married Arthur Crouse of Crouseville, June 20, 1939. They moved to Patten in 1940, where they raised four children. Her ability to set a table for any farm helpers and friends was legendary.
    She is survived by children, Arthur Jr. and his wife, Judy, of Dover, N.H., Phyllis of Brewer and Steve and his wife, Christe, of Patten; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Arthur; and daughter, Gerry Giles. We give our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Mountain Heights for the care and attention shown to Glenna.
    Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Stetson Memorial United Methodist Church, where she devoted many hours, with Steve Richardson officiating. Interment was after at Patten Cemetery. Refreshments were served by Methodist Woman's Club in the church vestry after the services. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Glenna's memory to Mountain Heights Health Care Equipment Fund, Patten, ME 04765. Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls.
