AUGUSTA — State Sen. Roger Sherman of Hodgdon was reported to be “doing fine” after a brief fainting spell  last Wednesday afternoon in the cafeteria of the Cross Office Building, according to Bonnie Gould, communications director for the Senate Republican Office. Gould added, that to be on the safe side, Sherman was taken to Maine General Hospital in Augusta for overnight observation and released.
Last, Friday Gould said she and the staff were “hoping to see him back this afternoon.” However, Sherman did not return to the senate before it adjourned.
Sherman is currently serving his second term in the Senate, representing District 34, which encompasses southern and central Aroostook County, including Fort Fairfield, Houlton and Presque Isle. Previously, Sherman served in the Maine House of Representatives.
