Bruce Nason, who is the physical education teacher at Houlton High School will be stepping into the athletic director position formerly held by Wayne Quint.
“I have nothing but respect for Mr. Quint,” said Nason. “He was great with the kids and he enjoyed them. I was fortunate enough to learn from one of the best, and hope that I will be remembered for my dedication to the students of SAD 29, as well.”
Nason has been coaching in the district for more than 30 years. He started under coach John Donato in the ‘70s assisting in baseball and has coached at the junior high and varsity levels. He has coached baseball, softball, golf, tennis, basketball and soccer.
“I wanted to experience a different aspect of athletics,” said Nason of accepting the position. “I want to support the student-athletes in all sports fairly and be helpful to the coaches. This will be a challenging job, but I will get the opportunity to see SAD 29 sports from a different perspective.”
