Linneus – Preston E. Adams, 89, went to his heavenly home on Aug. 3, 2009. He was born Feb. 7, 1920, at Linneus, the son of Lester and Eva (Seeley) Adams.
Preston served in the US Army during World War II in Panama and was a member of the VFW. He was employed by Ora Mooers for many years, the Hall Security Company for Louisiana Pacific and most recently by Andy’s IGA.
Preston is survived by his wife of 63 years, Madeline (Bates) Adams of Linneus; three daughters, Patricia Hersey of Oakfield, Pauline Crane and her husband Steve of Houlton, Diane Nason and her husband Leigh of Linneus; three grandchildren, James Hersey and his wife Candy of Smyrna, Wanda Jandreau and her husband Marty of Edgewood, MD, Leanna Nason of Linneus; three great-grandchildren, Adrian and Jordi Jandreau of Edgewood, MD, William Hersey of Smyrna; two sisters, Mildred Tidd of Houlton, Betty Stone and her husband David of Oakland; special uncle, Robert Seeley and his family; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by his parents; two sisters, Madeline Clark and Doris Wilson; and his son-in-law, Vernon Hersey.
Friends called Friday 11 a.m. at the Dunn Funeral Home until the time of the service 1 p.m. with Rev. David Tuttle officiating. Interment was in the Linneus Cemetery.
