RYAN’S HEART was the first non-profit organization to receive a $1,000 award as part of the County Federal Credit Union’s “Count on The County” Initiative. The Fox family founded Ryan’s Heart in 2008, following the death of Ryan A. Fox. The $1,000 award will support “Neighborhood Hearts,” a 10-week grief support workshop for children and their families or caregivers who are experiencing the death of a loved one and “Project Forget-Me-Not,” which provides a special keepsake tote bag to bereaved children.     The Fox family founded Ryan’s Heart in 2008, following the death of Ryan A. Fox. In emotionally supporting Ryan’s three surviving daughters, the family discovered that children require peer support programs and loving adults to help them learn to cope with the devastating effects that a death can cause.
