‘Damn Yankees’ a well done musical

To the editor:
    Bravo to the actors and actresses in Houlton High's "Damn Yankees".
    Having lived outside of New York City growing up attending Broadway Shows and later in Naples, Florida attending performances of both touring companies and professional dinner theater I can say they did a very good job. And the new Theater is amazing for a small community like Houlton.
    Just a note: The line in the play "keep your hands off me you Republican" is a reference to Senator Joe McCarthy and not the current Republicans. The play was written in the early 1950 when McCarthyism was running rampart in Washington and the Nation. One of McCarthy's favorite targets was Hollywood.
