The Youth Basketball Organization of America state tournament was held March 20 at Waterville and March 27 in Fairfield, and the County Physical Therapy eighth-grade 13U team came away with the title.

In pool play March 20 in Waterville, CPT opened by besting the Red Eddies of Auburn, 75-27, behind Parise Rossignol’s 25 points and Mackenzie Worcester’s 23.
The local squad topped the Skowhegan Jammers, 74-36, with Worcester netting 25, Rossignol 23 and Carmen Bragg 11.
In the final game of pool play, Rossignol scored 19 points and Worcester and Bragg notched 10 each in a 51-34 victory over the Knights of Poland.
Seeded first, CPT drew the Mainiacs of the Portland area in the semifinals the following weekend at Lawrence High School, 65-34, with Rossignol leading the way with 18 points, Worcester firing in 11 and Bragg putting in another 11.
In the championship, it was a rematch against the Jammers of Skowhegan, with CPT gaining a 65-41 triumph.
Worcester poured in 30 points, while Rossignol and Bragg had 10 and nine points, respectively.
The team was coached by Larry Worcester and Matt Rossignol. Chelsey Plourde served as the team’s scorekeeper.
