Weekend clinics and mini-camps on tap
Varsity Knights
A mandatory meeting of all high-school age football candidates will be held at Cleary Law Offices tonight at 6 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to review necessary requirements for the upcoming clinic to be held on Saturday at Sincock Field in Caribou. All players who plan on participating are required to have all completed forms in to head coach Brian Reynolds no later than Friday, June 11.
On Saturday, June 26, again at Cleary Law Offices, the varsity Knights will be measured for equipment and uniforms between 10 a.m. to noon.
Junior Knights
Mini camps for the Junior Knights team — grades 7 and 8 — will be held on Saturday, and again on June 19 at the Houlton Airport Field from 9-11 a.m. The purpose of this camp is to introduce new candidates to the game. Fundamentals and positional play will be demonstrated and practiced. Varsity coaches Reynolds and Andy Hay will attend one or both camps.
Although the mini camps are not mandatory, it is advisable that players attend at least one camp. Measurements for equipment will be taken. Coaches will meet with parents to explain the program’s goals and expectations.
Candidates should wear sneakers or football cleats, shorts and t-shirt. All candidates should bring water only. This mini camp is non-contact.
Peewee Knights
Black Knight and White Knight teams from grades 3 through 6 will hold their mini camps on Saturday and again on Saturday, June 19 at Houlton Airport Field from 9-11 a.m.
Coaches Brian Forest and Bill Creagh are anxious to introduce themselves. They will be coaching fundamentals to an anticipated large group of youngsters from the Houlton and Woodstock area. The coaches want to make this a fun experience for all first- and second-year players.
This practice is non-contact in nature. All players should wear sneakers or football cleats, as well as shorts and t-shirts. Players are asked to bring only water.
Coaches will be available to answer questions from parents.
