The Star City Senior Citizens Club met Jan. 11 at the V.F.W. with 41 members and one guest.
We had four new members join this week: Debbie Willete, Donnie Devoe, Betty Higgins and Preston Johnson. Our guest was Becky Curtis, Lila Day’s daughter.
The table blessing was given by Donna Devoe, after which every one enjoyed a potluck luncheon.
The regular meeting was opened by President Betty Wilson, with the “Lord’s Prayer,” flag salute and one verse of “America.”
Our sick members are Granville Lamb, Norma Evans and Aliena Clough. We ask that everyone keep them in their prayers.
The secretary’s and treasurer’s reports were accepted as read and agreed upon by a show of hands from he membership.
Richard Rand announced the sale of the 2007 calendars from the Historical Society. The Historical Society is looking for pictures of the Fairview Acres for next year’s calendars.
There will be a Senior Citizens Dinner on Feb 20 at the KC Hall. It will be re-announced in Feb. to remind those who’d like to attend.
The Pieces of Eight store here in Presque Isle is selling the Historical Society 2000 calendars for $10 each.
Member Bill McConnell sang us a musical joke.
We will be having musical entertainment by Ann Smith next week.

We would like to invite other seniors to join our club. Each week we have a potluck luncheon. We have an auction every other month to raise funds for our group. We even enjoy bingo every other week. There’s nothing like a good meal, friends and fun. Come and join us.
