Cookie Sale info

To the editor:
    In response to Carolyn J. McCarty’s request in the Houlton Pioneer Times of June 30, regarding the cookie sale at Monument Park.
    The women of the First Baptist Church collect Cool Whip containers during the year. Just before the July 4 holiday, we make all different kinds of cookies. The day before we are to set up in the park, we have all the cookies brought to the church, where they are sorted and placed in trays by kinds of cookie. The next day at the park, customers fill a tub with whatever choice of cookie they desire for $3.50. All the proceeds from the sale go to local and world missions.
