Machias Savings Bank has announced that it will be offering its 6th Annual Community Development Grant. This year’s award of $25,000 will be awarded to deserving projects located in and serving Machias Savings Bank’s primary lending area as defined in its CRA Public File.
Machias Savings Bank’s goal is to fund projects that result in community development. Among the most favorable anticipated results are: job retention/creation, community revitalization, affordable housing, and services that benefit low-to-moderate income individuals and/or families.
Last year’s award was divided among six organizations. Rose M. Gaffney After School Program; Hatch Family Racing for their healthy lifestyle awareness program; Town of Lincoln Heating Fuel Assistance program; Down East Business alliance for their revolving loan fund; Jonesboro Elementary After School Program; and MAPS Worldwide for promoting the permanency and stability to children in Maine.
