Ashland Community High School NHS Treasurer
This has been a very busy year for the Ashland Chapter of the National Honor Society. Made up of many committed and hardworking individuals, the following students are members of NHS at Ashland Community High School:
Conner McFarland, president; Sara Morton, vice president; Bethany Wardwell, secretary; Melodie Ouellette, treasurer; Jacky Raymond, Whitney Flint, Justin Belanger, Miranda Donovan, Andrea Mayo and Stephen Philbrook.
We inducted two new members into our chapter this year. Congratulations to Elena Reynaga and Taylor Baker!
This year we took on many important activities. The first project was to create a working set of bylaws that would govern our school chapter. We then participated in the Dyslexia Walk-A-Thon in Presque Isle and raised a large amount of money for this charity. This fall, we also assisted with the Thanksgiving Dinner for our senior citizens. Having recently completed a successful Daffodil fund-raiser for the American Cancer Society, we look forward to the projects that will fill out the rest of the year. These activities include reading to our younger students at the grade school, hosting a blood drive for the American Red Cross, putting on the Academic Awards Banquet, helping out with Special Olympics, and attending the Spring Regional Convention.
We look forward to doing many other projects this year and in the future. A special good luck goes out to all the graduating seniors and all NHS leaders to come. Finally, a huge thank you to our adviser, Mr. Benjamin Potvin! Thank you everyone for all of your hard work and support in making this year with the Ashland National Honor Society a success!
