Houlton’s Garrett Putnam, son of Chris and Kerry Putnam, will now represent the Houlton Elks Lodge at the Maine State Hoop Shoot in Brunswick on Sunday.
Putnam made 23-of-25 foul shots to win the boys 12-13 division of the District Elks Hoop Shoot, which was held in Bangor on Jan. 16.
Houlton had six contestants in the District shoot.
In the 8-9 age division, Rebecca Howe finished third for the girls, while Michael Beaton was third in the boys category.
In the 10-11 division, Kolleen Bouchard was runner up, with Patrick Howe finishing fourth for the boys.
In the 12-13 girls division, Lauren Rockwell placed fourth.
