Hollis H. “Jack” Hamilton, Jr., 70, of Windsor Locks, passed away at home on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011 after a short illness.
Jack was born Feb. 20, 1940 in Medford, Mass., the son of the late Hollis Hill Sr. and Isabelle (Booker) Hamilton. Jack was graduated from Houlton High School, Class of 1958, and was employed at Magnetec Corp as a senior buyer and Xitech Co. He actively coached baseball for six years in the Windsor Locks Little League. He was an avid lifelong fan of Richard Petty and a NASCAR fan and had a collection of Richard Petty memorabilia, which had become a hobby for over 35 years.
Jack is survived by a sister, Margaret McClelland, and her husband, Roland, of Rockledge, Fla.; three brothers, Malcolm K. Hamilton and his wife, Jeanette, William C. Hamilton, Douglas Hamilton and his wife, Nelda Lou, all of Windsor Locks. He is also survived by eight nephews, David K. Hamilton and his wife, Vickie, of Odgen, Utah, Glenn E. Hamilton of Windsor Locks, Paul D. Hamilton and his wife, Lynn, of Windsor, Gary R. Hamilton and his wife, Allyson, of Hebron, Todd A. Hamilton and his wife, Julie, of Hingham, Mass., Jason Hamilton and his wife, Annette, of Mansfield Center, John McClelland and his wife, Bonnie, and William McClelland and his wife, Sue, both of Rockledge, Fla.; and a niece, Jennifer Webb and her husband, Michael, of Windsor Locks.
Relatives and friends joined the family on Friday, February 11, 2011 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks, with a funeral service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial followed in Grove Cemetery.
