Randall, Bernice C., 87, March 18, 2011. Arrangements by Dunn Funeral Home, Houlton. Spring interment to be held in the Evergreen Cemetery.
HOULTON – The Author and Finisher of her faith wrote the final chapter in the Life of Bernice Vivian (Clapprood) Randall, 87, on March 18, 2011. With her family at her side she peacefully slipped into Eternity to be with her Savior and her waiting family.
Bunny, as she was known to all, was a quiet woman with a deep faith. She attended Thomas College in Waterville and worked at Boothby and Bartlette Ins. Co. She later worked as a special education technician in the Houlton Schools.
Long before the earthquake and world attention, Bunny had a love for the people of Haiti. In her late seventies, she spent a summer sewing stacks of gingham dresses for little girls in an orphanage there.
She loved robins and flowers, especially peonies, foxglove and delphiniums. She loved her children and grandchildren and she loved the Lord Jesus Christ.
Bunny was an accomplished seamstress and loved to knit and work on counted cross stitch projects. She loved to read and putter in her flower beds. She loved “peepers” in spring, the flowers of summer, the leaves of autumn and the first snow of winter. And she loved her Savior.
Bunny is survived by her son, John Randall of Houlton; her daughters, Cynthia Randall of Waterville, Marcia Randall of Houlton; three grandchildren Joshua, Justin and Jared of Portland; great-grandchild Trinity of Houlton; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Roger Randall, and her brother, Weldon Clapprood.
Friends called at the Military Street Baptist Church Tuesday 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Randall Burns officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made in Bunny’s memory directly to the Military Street Baptist Church “City on a Hill” project, the Maine Pine Tree Society, Special Olympics, or Breast Cancer Research Foundation, C/O Dunn Funeral Home, 11 Park Street, Houlton, ME 04730.
