HOULTON, Maine — Another CAP (College Access Program) class has completed a 10-week introduction to college at the Houlton Higher Education Center. This college transition program has been operating for more than five years and has helped over 100 students prepare for the challenges of college.
Students work on their college and financial aid applications; they visit college campuses in Presque Isle, and they become prepared academically by taking college prep classes, computer classes, and college placement tests.
All of the activity is under the direction of local teachers, Phil Gulliver, Bernadette Farrar, Sarah Lovejoy, Teri Morse, Suzanne Jandreau, Rainie Aucoin,  Mary Duff, Peter Lento, and Jean Henderson.  This program is very affordable and is carried out in a non-threatening environment.
CAP  is underwritten by the Maine State Legislature, local, state, and federal support.
