HAMDEN, CT – Lucille Pierce Albert, 84, of 70 Nicholas Court, Hamden, CT, formerly of Wallingford, CT, died suddenly at her home on Sunday, April 10, 2011. She was the beloved wife of Freeman Albert. Mrs. Albert was born in Brewer, Maine, on October 26, 1926, a daughter of the late Jonathan and Clara Hall Pierce, and had resided in Wallingford for most of her life, and in Hamden for the past seven years. She was a food server at Choate Rosemary Hall, Wallingford, for fifteen years, retiring in 1992. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Lynn (Stanley) Kohrn of Hamden; two sons, Kevin J. (Janice) Albert of Wallingford, and Brian M. (Michele) Albert of Killingworth, CT; eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Marie Elizabeth Albert,; two sisters, Elvie Dawson and Jean Blair; and a brother, Herschel Greenleaf.
Mrs. Albert’s funeral procession left Thursday at 9:00 a.m. from the Torello-Iacobucci Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven for a Mass of Christian Burial, which was celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in St. Stephen Church, 400 Ridge Road, Hamden. Burial followed in St. John Cemetery, Wallingford. Mrs., Albert’s family received friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook Street, I-91 Tech Center, Rock Hill, CT 06067.
