Students at Houlton High School were honored Wednesday evening with the school’s annual Awards Evening for National Honor Society and the Principal’s Award ceremony.
“Those of you that are serving now, as well as those of you who are about to be inducted into this prestigious organization should consider these thoughts,” said Bonnie Tidd, NHS advisor. “What does it mean to you to be a member of the National Honor Society? Is it another line in your college resume? Prestige among your peers? Or is it the values you hold? Is it the love of learning? Do you value service and do you care about your community?
“For those of you who are receiving awards tonight, when your name is called, be proud,” she continued. “Be proud of making the right choices and setting high standards. Be proud of this honor and privilege.”
