Presque Isle – Violet E. Bragdon, 84, died May 9, 2008, at a local hospital following a brief illness. She was born May 29, 1923, in West Chapman the daughter of Walter and Anna (Grendell) Condon.
She was predeceased by her husband Arnold Bragdon who she married October 2, 1944. Violet spent many years working at Condon’s Bakery, Potato Service and Aroostook Shoe in Presque Isle. She is survived by sons, Gary A. Bragdon of Presque Isle, Roger D. Bragdon of Washington state, Peter A. Bragdon and a special, daughter-in-law Marie Bragdon of Wales, ME; three daughters, Shirley Ann Smith of North Kingston, Rhode Island, Sandra Lee Allen of Gardiner and Robin A. Wilcox of Presque Isle; 13 grandchildren, including a special granddaughter Melinda Belyea; 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends called at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Funeral services were conducted 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev Kenneth Phelps officiating. Interment was in the Worth-Grendell Cemetery in Chapman.
