Ashland at 4-0

    Ashland baseball and softball ended another perfect week of play after defeating Wisdom on Monday to bring their record to 4-0.
    Ashland baseball had a runaway lead of nine runs in the first inning toward the 14-1 final. The pitching skills of Jeremy Tarr and Jake Paradis allowed only one hit to held Ashland to the victory. Senior Nick Gimbel hit three singles, Tarr had an RBI single and Lucas Belanger helped two teammates score for the Hornets.      Ashland softball kept Wisdom scoreless as they rounded the bases for a 30-0 Class D win. Andrea Mayo notched a home run in the first inning while Whitney Flint added a double for three runs. Mindy Chasse also had a double and a single.
    Ashland softball and baseball remained undefeated after facing Southern Aroostook on May 6 on their home diamonds.
    Senior Hornet Justin Belanger kept the Warriors scoreless from the pitching mound. SACS failed to make a hit for six innings as J. Belanger struck out 14 batters for the 4-0 win. Teammate Henry Milligan led offense with a triple and a single, and Tarr added an RBI single.
    Ashland softball’s batters had their way with the Warrior defense to take the victory, 18-3. Senior Flint slammed a double and single for three runs. Teammate Chasse also had a double to drive in three runs. Crystal Cook posted two singles. Flint struck out eight and walked six with only seven hits from the mound.
