It was a bittersweet reunion for the hockey alumni players during the Dec. 29 game at the John A. Millar Civic Center.
The alumni game is about having fun with those who played the game, but it was a somber reminder of a player who was missing on the ice.
“It was a great way to honor Dad as he spent many years lending his hand in helping to improve Houlton hockey and many hours in that arena,” said Chris Weber. “A lot of the players in this year’s alumni game had Dad for a coach at some point growing up and I was glad to see a big turnout to play in his memory. Hockey was a big part of Dad’s life and he loved to see the youth of Houlton enjoy it as much as he did.”
