The Houlton Police Department is again offering a Citizen’s Police Academy beginning March 14. Classes will meet on Thursday evenings for 10 consecutive weeks at the Houlton Police Department, located at 97 Military St., from 6-9 p.m.
The academy is free and open to all residents within the greater Houlton area. In order to be admitted, you must be at least 18 years of age and not have an extensive criminal or motor vehicle violations history. Students interested in a career in law enforcement will be accepted into the academy. A written waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian must accompany the application.
The purpose and mission of the Citizens Police Academy is to foster a better understanding between citizens and police through education. Applications are available at the Houlton Police Department or on our website at www.houlton police.com/cpa. Seating is limited.
