HOULTON – Ella T. McQuarrie 88, died Feb. 23, 2013, at a local healthcare facility. She was born April 16, 1924, at Houlton, the daughter of Harry A. and Clara (Henderson) Thwaites.
Ella was an organist for the Congregational Church for many years. She also played for the East Hodgdon Baptist Church and the Houlton Alliance Church. Ella taught high school in Hodgdon and Sherman school districts. She resided at Madigan Estates for the past year.
Ella is survived by her husband of 37 years Clifford McQuarrie; three sons Wayne H. Pierce and special friend Sunshine L. Easler, H. James Bell and partner Mark Harvath, Ted and Sherry Bell; her daughter Christine Marie Nightingale and her husband Brian; Clifford’s three sons Tom and Brenda McQuarrie, Steve McQuarrie and his fiancé Linda Henderson, Brian and Debbie McQuarrie; many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.
