Hello everyone! Well, the Fourth of July has passed and gone for another year.
Did you have a good time? I watched the annual Fourth of July parade from our Ricker Plaza lawn as many others did. The parade was over 40 minutes long. Two bands, a few floats, lots of trucks and some horses. It was a good parade and we thank those who gave their time to entertain us. We were served ice cream and watermelon, a nice addition to the hot parade.
Word has it that Joe Garnett is home after undergoing surgery in Bangor. Glad you are home, Joe. We are sorry to learn Ken Thibodeau is a patient at Houlton Regional Hospital. We miss you, Kenny.
We had our July picnic inside in the community room, because of the heat. It was too hot to be outside even though the food was cooked outside. We had a nice picnic with hot dogs, hamburgers, salads, cup cakes and a lot of other refreshments. Many tenants of the Ricker family were in attendance.
Kathryn Hall of Bangor has returned to her place of work after being in town and a guest of her mother for her 40th class reunion. Evelyn Callnan wanted friends to know that she is back at Ricker Plaza now and is better. She has had lots of company and that always helps us improve in health.
We miss Norma Bates who is in the nursing home. Whenever I see her sister Lavina I think Norma should be with her. Hello to Norma.
The Bible words for this week is: ‘’Behold I have given you the power to ‘treat upon serpents’ and scorpions and upon the full force of the enemy and nothing will harm you. Nevertheless do not rejoice because the spirits are subjects to you but rejoice because your names are written in heaven.’’ (Luke 10:19-20)
Jeannie Hall is a patient at Houlton Regional Hospital at this time, I believe. To those in the nursing home, enjoy your time and the people there. We miss you all. Have a good week and keep safe.
On angels: around the throne of God, a band of glorious angels always stand (James Neale). The weather has been ‘’hot.’’ I don’t mind it, but it makes me sleepy.
