Several musicians with County ties were recently lauded by the Pine Tree State Country Music Association as 2013 Award Show winners.
Jimmy Spellman received the “Rusty Rogers Award.” Spellman is a member of the Country Music Halls of Fame for Maine and Massachusetts.
Bonnie Rairdon received the Album of the Year award. Rairdon is a member of the Maine Country Hall of Fame.
Melanie Jordan received the Junior Modern Female Vocalist award.
Phyllis Sennett Hersey won the Traditional Female Vocalist award for her original recording of “The Christmas Song.”
All four have ties to the Houlton area.
