EAST MILLINOCKET – Take one magic show, add a spaghetti supper, mix with food and craft booths, toss in a live auction and a cash give-away and it all adds up to a lively day at St. Peter’s annual Lawn Party, Aug. 1, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the grounds of the church at 58 Cedar St., East Millinocket.
The live auction, a new addition to the lawn party, continues to attract donations of all types and kinds, including such bid-able items as a Sunbeam table top grill, a table top ceramic Christmas Tree, inflatable Christmas scenes, a Craftsman aerator and electric roasters.
Auction items will be on display beginning at 11 a.m. The auction gets underway at 3 p.m. with auctioneer Kermit Cote starting the bidding. Payments may be made in cash or by credit card.
The lawn party committee continues to accept donations for the auction. Businesses or individuals wishing to make donations should call St. Peter’s office Mondays through Thursdays at 746-3333.
High on the list of must do things are the food booths featuring hot dog, onion rings, fried dough, fudge and baked goods. Also available that day will be novelties, fancy work and various raffles.
A major attraction, a spaghetti supper put on by members of St. Anne Circle, No. 646, Daughters of Isabella, will begin at 4:30 p.m.
The drawing for the $1,000 give-away will commence at 6 p.m.
Proceeds from the lawn party will be donated to St. Peter’s Church to help the church meet its financial obligations.
