Island Falls man injured in accident

    ISLAND FALLS — An Island Falls man was injured July 7 when his vehicle went off the road and struck a tree.
    Terrance Robinson, 58, of Island Falls was driving a 1994 Jeep Cherokee on the South Shore Road at about 10:30 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a corner and left the dirt roadway striking a tree. Robinson was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash and the airbag in his vehicle was deployed.

    He was taken to Houlton Regional Hospital by the Island Falls Ambulance Service for internal injuries. He was treated and released.
    Robinson’s vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by Hayes Wrecker Service.
    According to Sgt. Joshua Haines of the Maine State Police, alcohol was a factor in the crash. The incident remains under investigation by Maine State Police Troopers Tim Saucier and Jared Sylvia. Charges may be pending.
