ISLAND FALLS — Construction on the northbound lane of Interstate 95 has caused organizers of the annual Island Falls Summerfest to juggle their schedule a bit to avoid the heavy traffic that the town is seeing.
The parade will take an off-highway, circular route on several town side roads, on Sunday, Aug. 4, at 1 p.m. Parking will be marked and enforced to ensure public safety. This year’s theme is “Hollywood Style,” according to Ruth Frazier, event organizer.
Lineup will take place on the Old Patten Road, with Phil Faulkner on hand to direct traffic. For additional information, contact Becky Drew 463-2372 or at the library in Island Falls or Faulkner at 463-2518. Pre-registration of floats is desired.
