Take Off Pounds Sensibly Chapter 0233 of Houlton met at the Aldergate building on High Street for its Friday, August 9 meeting.
Fourteen TOPS members with three KOPS (Keep Off Pounds Sensibly) were in attendance. Loser of the week was Marsha Reed with Lois Downing as runner-up.
The skinny dish was taken home by Barbara Grant and Joanne Scott won the 50/50 drawing. Charm lady Barbara Whited distributed charms to: Cheryl Ladner, Lois Downing, Cheryl Driscoll, Charlotte Marley, Joanne Scott, Shirley Ethier, Betty Ivey, Diane Folsom and Frank Denty.
Charlotte Marley explained the new contest, ‘’Flick the Flea.’’ The contest will begin next week. ‘’Happy Birthday’’ was sung to Joanne Scott, who turned 72 today.
Area captain Janice Cote was present. She spoke on the advantages of losing weight; be patient; be realistic, judge yourself, eat in moderation. When finished she talked about her wedding anniversary trip to Alaska. She recently was given an achievement award as being the fourth best area captain in the United States.

The chapter meets every Friday at 8-8:45 a.m.; a meeting begins at 9 o’clock and usually ends an hour later. Come, enjoy and take off weight.
