BU-PregnancyCare-clr-cx-sharpt-35The Pregnancy Care Center of Aroostook received a generous donation from the Knights of Columbus for $1,100, which were the proceeds from the Mother’s Day Lobster/Steak Raffle. This gift will be used to help fund the Give Moms Credit Program which enables women to earn “Mommy Money” by participating in parenting classes, watching educational videos and doing Bible studies. After clients earn a maximum of $200, they receive a voucher for Walmart

or Kmart and are able to purchase new baby furniture such as cribs, high chairs, playpens, car seats and such. This program gives the PCC the opportunity to help meet their tangible needs but also provide emotional support and relationships. The PCC offers free pregnancy tests; infants and maternity clothing; post-abortion counseling; toiletry items such as diapers, wipes and lotions; and a Survivor Intervention Program designed to equip young people with the skills to face the everyday pressures of drugs, sex, alcohol and other peer pressures. All services are free and confidential. PCC is a faith-based non-denominational and non-profit organization. All gifts are tax deductible and greatly appreciated. Community support is greatly appreciated and helps the organization reach hundreds of clients per year. The PCC has three centers: the main office is in Presque Isle, with satellite offices in Houlton and Fort Kent. Mark and Gerald are both members of the Northern Maine Council 1753 of Fort Fairfield.
