The Purple Hat ladies met at a private residence, Shirley Roy’s in Oakfield Tuesday, Oct. 8. Since we are in the month of October, the Halloween motif was significant and each table featured Halloween colors of orange, tan, and bright colors with vases of flowers.
Before the meal, Lois Downing gave the blessing. We sang “Happy Birthday” to Arlene Friel, Marsha Reed and Delores Locke. Two or three ladies received a ceramic bear to take home.
A word search from the word Halloween revealed Jackie as the winner with 26 words. Charlotte lined up several ladies and performed ‘’The 12 Days of Halloween.’’ We all jammed together for a picture, taken by our leader Charlotte.
The next meeting will be at the SAVE building on Bird Street in Houlton, Nov. 12.
Before departure, we all signed a get-well card for Larry Sanders, husband of member Peggy. Larry is home from Houlton Regional Hospital. If you need information about the society, you may call Charlotte Marley at 757-8483 or any of the other persons named above. Come, enjoy and meet new people.
