Another Sunday, as this is written—on a Sunday, a little wet one. The wind is not blowing and the trees surrounding Ricker Plaza are still. Saw Margaret Drew a couple days ago. She was on her way to Woodstock, N.B. I have been following the Red Sox games. The team has a big following. Can you imagine yourself sitting in that crowd?
Halloween is fast approaching. Remember when we would go door to store with the words, ‘’shellie out.’’ Those were the days. One lady used to give us quarters, others would scribble on the windows with soap or wax. Ah, those days of so long ago!
Charlene Henderson, our liaison, is enjoying herself in sunny Florida. Members of her and Brian’s family are spending time in Florida visiting Disney. The grandchildren were taken by plane, and many others went by car — 22 in all. They were going to visit Disney World.
Evelyn Callnan has a lot of babies visit her. The latest were twins, grandchildren of her son Paul and wife, Cindy, Abby and Tony. We have another dog in the building. I don’t know the owner. I just saw him being walked. I have lost track of the number of dogs (mostly small) now in the building.
Thank you to all my friends who leave the bags beside my door. They are gratefully accepted. Do you know of someone saving greeting cards now? My friend who used to save them, is no longer here.
Met Mel Norton a few days ago. He’s a retired pastor from the Wesleyan Church. He was visiting his good friend Lavina Byron. Diane Richard has been in Millinocket, because of her parents, who are both in poor health. If you don’t see Diane, this is where she is.
This is it for this week. Take care, keep well and enjoy.
