The Cary Library will host a book signing for local author Gordon Hammond on Monday, Nov. 18 at 5 p.m.
Hammond’s novel is about an orphan, Ezra Samuels, who loses his parents to the 1918 epidemic. Taken in by family the story follows his determination and love in a rural community.
“Guided by strong women and knowledgeable men, he learns to follow his heart, to stand against community prejudices and to survive the Great Depression in ways that hold a message for America today,” said Kathryn Olmstead, editor of Echoes magazine.
