HODGDON — The search continues in SAD 70.
Interim Superintendent Clayton Belanger said the board announced at their meeting last week that they will start another round of advertising in the search for a new leader at the Hodgdon district.

If this batch of advertising is successful, the board could start interviews in early December and if interviews net a promising candidate, SAD 70 might start 2014 with a new superintendent.
“The search committee is hopeful they can make a decision the first or second week of January,” explained Belanger.
Belanger added that the board is also considering the possibility of combining the positions of superintendent and special education director.
But he noted that’s only an idea at this point; no final decision has been made.
The search process is nearing its 6-month mark for SAD 70. Its former superintendent, Bob McDaniel, resigned from his post in June. Belanger, a retired superintendent from SAD 24 in Van Buren, has agreed to fill in until school board members find the right person for the job.
The next regularly scheduled meeting of the SAD directors is Monday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. in the central office building.
