CARY – M. Marguerite Simpson, 103, went to be with her Lord on November 13, 2013, in her home with her family at her side. She was born October 9, 1910, at Houlton, the daughter of John H. and Alberta (Saunders) Perrigo.
Marguerite was a member of the Houlton Church of Christ. She was a role model for all who knew her, always placing others before herself. She had a great sense of humor and an extremely keen mind, reading her Bible daily and playing scrabble into her 104th year.
Marguerite is survived by her son John Simpson and his wife Betsy of Hampden; a special daugther Geraldine West and her husband Brent of Holden; nine grandchildren, Sarah Simpson of Wayne, John M. Simpson of Germantown, MD, Brent West, Jr. of Stockton Springs, Joel West of Clifton, Dawn Porter of Amity, Royce Quint of Hodgdon, Keith Quint of Machais, Philip Quint of Hodgdon and Gina Parent of Hodgdon; as well as many great and great-great grandchildren; several special nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 69 years Millard; her daughter Marie Eagle; an infant son Leland; brothers, Harrison, Leland, Kenneth and Earl; sisters, Marion Moore and Lela Geraldine Mallet. Her family would like to express sincere thanks to her doctor, Ted Sussman, MD, special friend Lynette Bell, RN, as well as her many caregivers from Aroostook Home Health.
Friends called at the Dunn Funeral Home Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Hodgdon Cemetery.
